The old rule still works: one more layer than you're wearing. A bodysuit, a knit over the top and fleece lined leggings covers most days, and a beanie does more than another jumper because so much warmth goes out the top.

On a mild day, yes. When it really drops, they're cut to layer, so a knit over a long sleeve bodysuit does the job without her looking like she can't put her arms down.
